A mother and daughter of Ukraine who fled from the war finally arrived in the land of England on Monday night, after more than a week wrestling with a visa problem with British officials in France.

I wrote from Ukraine, where I have spent most of the last six months, reporting the construction of conflict and bleak war reality.

This is the most intense time in my 30 -year career. In December I visited a trench outside of Donetsk with Ukraine army; In January I went to Marieupol and drove along the coast to Crimea; On February 24 I was with other colleagues in the capital of Ukraine when the first Russian bombing fell.

This is the biggest war in Europe since 1945. For Ukraine, is a existential struggle against new but familiar Russian imperialism. Our journalist and editor team intended to cover this war as long as it took place, however expensive it might be proven.
