Sri Lanka Crisis Live Updates: Opposition Rejects President’s Unity Offer As Crisis Escalates

Colombo: Sri Lankan opposition has fired the invitation of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to join the unity government as “unreasonable” and instead demanded that he resigned for lack of food, fuel, and deteriorating drugs in the country.

Overture Mr Rajapaksa came when armed forces viewed more demonstrations over what the government recognized was the country’s worst economic crisis since the independence from England in 1948.

President Sri Lanka, the coalition of the ruler of Gotabaya Rajapaksa lost the majority in parliament on Tuesday after at least 41 members of parliament walked out of alliances amid plants in the economic crisis, according to the parliamentary process.

China was reportedly refusing to respond to the attraction of Sri Lanka to reschedule its large debt, and his Dubsador to Sri Lanka said in March that his country was getting more sharp to consider loans of USD 1 billion and USD 1.5 billion credit lines.
