Doctor G advance booking: Ayushmann Khurrana film sees day one sales of ₹50 lakh, exhibitors feel film may open well

Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Croaker G hits the theatres on October 14. Themid-size film isn’t hoping to contend with some recent blockbusters but simply have a decent opening and make on word of mouth. This has been the case with utmost Ayushmann flicks in the history. Till Thursday autumn, the film had vended tickets worth ₹ 50 lakh for its opening day with the figure prognosticated to inch closer to the ₹ 75- 80 lakh by the end of the day. This gives stopgap of the film getting a decent first day at the box office

Doctor G is a social comedy directed by Anubhuti Kashyap and also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah. The film revolves around the only manly croakerin a gynecology department and is right down Ayushmann’s alley as it’s a comedy imitator about a subject considered taboo.

Kamal Gianchandani, CEO of PVR Pictures, says, “ We’ve seen cult enjoy themselves extensively and laugh out loud during the caravan playouts in theatres and there’s a certain affinity towards an Ayushmann Khurrana film. Looking at how the advance bookings have opened up with decent figures, as compared to othermid-budget flicks, we’re hopeful that he’s back with a bang, paving way for other similar high- conception flicks as well

Fair are hopeful that the film will break the hex formid-size Hindi flicks that has persisted for a time. utmost Hindi flicks that have succeeded at the box office( with the notable exception of The Kashmir Files) have been large- scale flicks. Devang Sampat, CEO Cinepolis, says, “ We’ve entered tremendous response from Doctor G caravan and hope that this film would change the fate ofmid-size film, which has been impacted in recent Covid times. The advance booking figures that we’re seeing presently has been a positive step towards that direction. ”
