Goodbye Trailer: In Amitabh Bachchan vs Rashmika Mandanna, Love Wins
The Goodbye trailer was released on Tuesday morning and the perfect way to describe it is to call it an emotional quality – there is sadness, love, logic, tradition, and a little humor. The trailer begins with the character of Rashmika Mandanna who tells her parents (played by Veteran Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta) that he wants to get out of his home to be independent.
Then, Rashmika answered the doorbell just to find out that his mother had died. When Rashmika returned, he and his father (big B) were tangled in a constant vs. logic battle. While Rashmika questioned every ritual, explaining how his mother always wanted to be cremated in a certain way and that he wanted to be a free soul. Amitabh Bachchan sided with ancient social norms. Asking his daughter where “logic” is when he did not answer the phone for two days.
This trailer found an element of comic assistance in the form of Sunil Grover, which only states that good memory has no logic. Pavail Gulati found himself at the end of the recipient of a funny sentence delivered by his father (played by Amitabh Bachchan). Elli Avram, who plays the interest of Pavail’s love found himself lost in cultural differences (you will know when you see the trailer). Overall, the goodbye trailer will make you smile and shed one or two tears at the same time
Sharing movie trailers, Rashmika Mandanna wrote at her social media post: “Part of our goodbye baby is now yours … this is special for many reasons but for now I hope you and your family are like this.”
Sharing a poster of herself with Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika wrote: “Papa aur main, aa rahe hai aapke family se milne on 7th October.”
Goodbye, directed by Vikas Bahl and co-produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Saraswati Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Viraj Sawant, Vikas Bahl, is slated to release in theatres on October 7.
